Film Education in Schools and Campuses

 


The Film Development Board has put forward a new plan to increase the knowledge and history of Nepali cinema among the common people. The history of Nepali cinema is more than five decades old. As soon as the corona effect gets over, the committee will start the work of formulating the curriculum for the coming year. 

On the initiative of the Film Development Board, the Curriculum Development Center under the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal has invited the Chairman of the Development Board, Dayaram Dahal, as a member of the Curriculum Development Committee. According to the Development Board, from next year, films will be available at the school level. The importance of Nepali art, culture, and literature will increase if film education can be started in colleges and all campuses from the very beginning. The tradition of watching Nepali movies will increase among Nepali youth. The step helps the history of the film to live on and increase the Nepali audience directly and indirectly.

Ensuring the vocational education, the Curriculum Development Center is trying to include the film in the new curriculum. Initially, the film has been prepared to be included in the school level and curriculum under Tribhuvan University. After that, the subject of the film will be taught in all schools and colleges. It will ensure that the students who are interested in film in the future will be already attached and prepared, said Keshav Prasad Dahal, Director General of the Curriculum Development Center.

According to the Development Board, knowledge of the history, literary and technical aspects of the film are essential from the school level. He asserts, it is starting soon and the film is not only for the development board but also for the common Nepali.The board has stated that it is necessary for the preservation and promotion of Nepali art and culture through tourism and also for the promotion of tourism.
